“It takes photographs, video clips, time lapse, operates as a webcam, and has a measurement
feature. It is so easy to use that my four-year-olds mastered it in one day! It is durable, and the price is right. I leave it out and the students are able to use it independently. I have other technological tools, such as iPads, [a] projector, [an iPod] Nano, flip cameras, and digital cameras—but my
favorite … tool is the SmartScope!” by

"The smartscope is AMAZING. I love using it on the computer to really analzye objects/specimens, and my students really enjoy seeing the images magnified. Thank you." by

"The Smart scope is working great!! My kindergarteners LOVE it!" by

"I apologize..... :)
I totally doubted these microscopes when I got the email and thought "whatever! They're going to sit in the closet like the other ones because they'll be too hard to use.."
I was totally wrong....they ARE super EASY! :)" -- Library Media Specialist by

Motion Sensor
Product Code: 3270
Price: $109
The Motion sensor can capture the motion of running students, falling basketballs and carts on inclined planes. Featuring an industry leading sample rate of 50Hz, this sensor works well with the Dynamics System.
More Product Information
Applications
Physics:
Graphing your own motion
Velocity of carts on an inclined plane
Newton's second law
Temperature and the speed of sound
Simple Harmonic motion
Elastic and inelastic collisions
Static and Kinetic Energy
Impulse and momentum
The Motion Sensor is a sonar device that emits ultrasonic pulses, which reflect off an object. It measures the time it takes a high frequency sound pulse to travel from the sensor to an object and back. This time data is used, together with the speed of sound to determine the distance of an object from the sensor.
When set in any of the 3 Distance ranges, the Motion sensor uses temperature compensation for greater accuracy. When using the Time range, temperature compensation is not used; therefore the correlation between temperature and the speed of sound can be investigated.
This Motion sensor takes the power it requires from the datalogger.
