“It takes photographs, video clips, time lapse, operates as a webcam, and has a measurement
feature. It is so easy to use that my four-year-olds mastered it in one day! It is durable, and the price is right. I leave it out and the students are able to use it independently. I have other technological tools, such as iPads, [a] projector, [an iPod] Nano, flip cameras, and digital cameras—but my
favorite … tool is the SmartScope!” by

"The smartscope is AMAZING. I love using it on the computer to really analzye objects/specimens, and my students really enjoy seeing the images magnified. Thank you." by

"The Smart scope is working great!! My kindergarteners LOVE it!" by
Karen -- Ohio
"I apologize..... :)
I totally doubted these microscopes when I got the email and thought "whatever! They're going to sit in the closet like the other ones because they'll be too hard to use.."
I was totally wrong....they ARE super EASY! :)" -- Library Media Specialist by

Gas Pressure - Differential 10kPa
Product Code: 3139
This sensor measures the differential pressure between its two ports. If one port is open to the atmosphere then the sensor measures pressure relative to the atmospheric pressure. With both ports open to the atmosphere, the reading is 0. Blowing into one port will produce a positive value, whereas blowing into the other port will produce a negative value.
This sensor has a very sensitive range and is suitable for a number of Biology experiments e.g. as a manometer, investigating the uptake of oxygen by maggots or breathing rate.
For breathing rate investigations this sensor is connected to a Breathing Rate Belt.
More Product Information
Applications
Biology:
Experiments involving a Manometer
Breathing rate (with Breathing Rate Belt 3190)
Production of gases in an enclosed atmosphere (O²) during photosynthesis of an aquatic plant
Osmosis investigations
Rate of Transpiration investigations
Ranges:
Range 1: ± 10 kPa (Resolution: 0.01 kPa)
Range 2: ±1.5 psi (Resolution: 0.001 psi)
The Differential Gas Pressure sensors have 2 ports.
The external diameters of the ports are tapered from 4 to 4.3 mm.
The sensor element has automatic internal temperature compensation so that changes in room temperature do not affect readings
The user manual (available from the Resources tab) has a recommendation chart for the ‘best’ sensor to use for different gas pressure investigations.
A Gas Pressure Tubing Accessory pack (3138) is available which contains PVC tubing, pipettes, connectors, stopcocks and a syringe.
