Testimonials

  • “It takes photographs, video clips, time lapse, operates as a webcam, and has a measurement feature. It is so easy to use that my four-year-olds mastered it in one day! It is durable, and the price is right. I leave it out and the students are able to use it independently. I have other technological tools, such as iPads, [a] projector, [an iPod] Nano, flip cameras, and digital cameras—but my favorite … tool is the SmartScope!”

  • "I apologize..... :) I totally doubted these microscopes when I got the email and thought "whatever! They're going to sit in the closet like the other ones because they'll be too hard to use.." I was totally wrong....they ARE super EASY! :)" -- Library Media Specialist

Oxygen Sensor

Price: $229Add to Cart

This Oxygen Sensor contains both the Oxygen Adapter and the Oxygen Electrode to form the dual range Oxygen sensor, capable of measuring oxygen levels in air, or dissolved oxygen levels in water.

More Product Information

Activities

Biology:

  • Photosynthesis
  • Cell respiration
  • Enzyme activity

Physiology:

  • Oxygen levels during breathing

Environment:

  • Ecosystem monitoring
  • The effect of temperature on Oxygen levels
  • Water quality

This sensor requires setting up prior to use - allow at least 30 minutes to polarise, then the sensor can be calibrated easily either for use in air or in water. For details of calibration, see the user manual available on the Download page.

Hint: Use a magnetic stirrer when using the oxygen sensor in a beaker of water, to keep the water flowing gently past the sensor.

Note: If using pH, Oxygen and Conductivity sensors in the same solution at the same time, they can interfere with each other's signals. Keep the sensors as far apart as possible, or take readings using one sensor at a time.
